Elder Dad and Sister Mom

I know.  They are cute.  Steven's parents, Doug and Tricia (now Elder Dad and Sister Mom) are serving a one-year mission for our church in Salt Lake City working at the Church History Library.

Their work sounds amazing!  They are going through President Kimball's papers now while some of their friends translate diaries of old Mission Presidents in Mexico, transcribe interviews from saints in Pakistan, and gather information from LDS chaplains.  It really reminds me of doing college research (my college research, at least).

We really liked visiting them and seeing how they live.  Its funny how life takes you full circle.  You start out in a small apartment, move up to bigger and better things, and now (just while they're on the mission), they are living like college kids.  Doug and Tricia are in a small apartment and their focus is on their research.

Makes me excited to do the same thing when we are older and our kids are grown.

While we do miss having them a mere 3 hour car ride away from us, we are so proud of their decision to serve a mission!
